Well, here goes nothing… I’ve decided I needed a jumpstart into my writing and thought a blog may be the best way for me to do that. I’ve been writing since around 2006 and enjoy it thoroughly. I’ve been on and off for a few years now and really wish I could write more religiously. Hopefully, this blog will aide me in doing so. Who knows, maybe I’ll thrive here.

I’m not really sure of the format I’ll be using, but I’m going to do my best to just take time a few days out of the week to throw some stuff down on here. I’ve written poetry for most of my life, but I started writing a book in 2015. I’ve only gotten to a little over 10,000 words into it so far and have gotten to a point where I’m not sure I should continue. I’m lost between the feeling of “it’s not detailed enough” or “I don’t really have a climax and therefore no real story” It’s really frustrating and demoralizing. I have this story in my mind and I know if I do it right, it could be magnificent. Perfection truly is my enemy in this endeavor.

I’m going to call it quits for now, but I’ll be back tomorrow to see what exactly I can do on this thing. I’ll try and post some of my work on here soon. Be warned, it’s going to be poetry and it’s going to be some sappy love stuff. Those tend to be the only types of poetry I feel compelled to write. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.
